Carlos Gardel Museum

Carlos Gardel Museum

Carlos Gardel was one of the most popular artists from the National and international history, and he is still a symbol for the "porteños." The museum is located in the last house the singer lived in Buenos Aires.

In 1927 Gardel bought the house that nowadays hosts the museum for his mother Berta. He lived in this house with her until the last year he spent in Argentina, in 1933. The construction, a "Casa Chorizo," is typical from the first half of the 20th Century. The museum, dependent on the government of Buenos Aires, exhibits personal articles from Gardel and samples of his work.
